We start by crafting our round-wound stainless steel strings with our signature flexible cores and precise gauges. Then, in our New York factory, they undergo a transformation only La Bella can create.

Using custom-engineered polishing machines—designed and built in-house—we carefully smooth away the ridges that normally define a round wound. This intensive, multi-stage process goes far beyond the abrasive feel of conventional “half rounds” or “ground wounds,” which rely on grinding rather than true polishing.The result? A uniquely balanced tone that lives between flats and rounds—rich, expressive, and fast under the fingers.
